|Cynthia Kobel: Profile
I've worked for more than 25 years as a photographer. I began by working as a photojournalist for such newspapers as the Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, and the Dallas Times Herald, covering actors and rock stars, poets and politicians.
For the last several years, however, my work has focused on the people and places I've seen during my extensive travels. In 2003, I had at an exhibit in Chicago at the Takohl Gallery that featured some my images of Patagonian glaciers. There is a common thread in both kinds of work, however. Looking through a camera lens, there comes a time when it's possible to capture the essence of the moment and to convey it visually. That is exactly the moment I am always seeking.
